Another Sunday, another look back on the last seven days, it has been a week filled with incredible talent, live industry events, and that relentless energy that keeps Ghostlight moving forward.
Back in the Audition Room
First up, last weekend I held in-person auditions for potential new talent looking to join the Ghostlight. After so much time spent reviewing self-tapes behind a screen, it was absolute bliss to actually get performers into the room, watch them work, and collaborate live.
Details are being finalised right now, and I’ll be ready to shout about them very soon this week!
Inspiration at Leeds Playhouse
I also had the distinct pleasure of being invited to Leeds Playhouse by a graduating student from Leeds Conservatoire to watch their 2026 production of The Odyssey. I am so thankful to them for extending the invitation! It was wonderful to be back in the Playhouse again and to witness such exceptional work on stage. Seeing the raw potential and craft of this year's emerging graduates is exciting, and I am looking forward to following their journeys and seeing everything they can do and become in this industry.
Dance Energy & Fellow Dads at CYD 2026
To top off the industry trips, I was invited down to CYD 2026 (Can You Dance?) over in Liverpool. Being in a room packed with so many talented young dancers was electrifying, and the work showcased by the various dance schools and performing arts colleges was brilliant.
While I was there, I bumped into a fellow actor who was out supporting his children performing. It was genuinely so refreshing to connect with another creative parent, seeing him there simply as a supportive dad championing his kids because they love what they do, completely separate from his own career, was a really lovely human moment.
Wins, Losses & Charging Toward Christmas
As with any week in this industry, there were some big wins and a few inevitable losses. But that is the nature of the business—you celebrate the victories, learn from the passes, and keep pushing forward.
Looking ahead, we are entering another packed four-week sprint as we get closer to Christmas.
I am feeling as energised as ever.
