Looking back over the last seven days, my heart and head are completely full of joy, inspiration, and exciting plans for the future.
Welcoming New Talent
To kick things off on the business desk, I officially signed a wonderful new talent to the Ghostlight roster last week! We are getting all their materials finalized behind the scenes, and their full announcement details will be dropping later this week. Watch this space!
Returning "Home" to the Stage in Bradford
To round off a brilliant week, I had the opportunity to visit the Bradford Playhouse on Saturday. It was wonderful to catch up with Meg, Paul, Andy and the rest of the theatre folk, stepping back into that building truly felt like returning home.
And on a personal note, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be stepping back onto the stage this Christmas to play the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz! 🦁👑
London Calling: Paddington Bear Experience & Catching Up with Olivia
Following that, it was time for a trip down to London, starting with a visit to the Paddington Bear Experience to watch the brilliant Olivia Black in action. Watching her perform in such an immersive environment was fantastic, but I have to admit—the geek and tech nerd in me couldn't help but stare at all the lighting rigs and production fixtures! Seeing how seamlessly that entire system operates was deeply inspiring.
Afterwards, Olivia and I sat down for a proper catch-up. We ended up chatting for over an hour, putting the world to rights and planning her next career steps, so much so that I ended up running late for my next commitment!
70 Years of National Youth Theatre - ‘Letters to My Younger Future Self’
The next stop was the Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Centre, where I joined two of our brilliant clients, Michael Seales and Jessy Dale, for an evening celebrating 70 years of the National Youth Theatre.
It was an incredible, awe-inspiring night. Being in a room packed with so many talented professional actors and passionate aspiring creatives was the ultimate reminder of why we do what we do.
I capped off the London leg with a smooth, gentle LNER train journey back home to Leeds, completely buzzing with ideas for our roster.
Stepping into the week full of gratitude, inspiration, and a very busy calendar.
Let's have it!
