From the Set to the Ceremony: A Whirlwind Leap into July
There was brief radio silence on the blog last week, as it has been a beautifully chaotic time here at Ghostlight.
Between managing a surge in auditions, reviewing self-tapes, and holding final representation meetings and signings, the desk has been absolutely buzzing.
The Ultimate Graduation Hustle
But the absolute highlight of the week has been gearing up to celebrate our incredible graduates at their graduation ceremonies. Three years of intense training and dedication is an achievement in itself, but one of our graduates has truly taken the hustle to a whole new level this week.
Not only are they officially qualifying in law, but they have also been booked and filming on set this week! Talk about a balancing act. Their schedule looks like something out of a movie: finish filming, jump straight on a train, rush home for a few hours of sleep, get their hair done, and head straight out the door to collect their degree.
Moving into July
I am incredibly proud of the sheer drive and work ethic our talent displays.
Seeing them balance professional industry work with major academic milestones is incredible. Leaving the student bubble they’ve known for three years to move home and take on 'muggle jobs' while waiting for the industry wheels to turn is a massive transition, and it's nothing short of inspiring.
It has been a truly wonderful, high-energy way to transition from June into July.
If this is how the month is starting, I can't wait to see what the rest of the summer brings for Ghostlight!
A Bittersweet Goodbye
Amidst all the forward momentum, last week also brings a tinge of sadness as we say goodbye to Pat.
Pat was originally only supposed to be with us for a brief six months to help get Ghostlight off the ground, set up, and running. His support during this foundational chapter has been invaluable, and while we will miss him around here, we wish him the absolute best of luck as he steps into his own next future chapter.
